Protected enclosures with purge for Zone 2
Explosion-proof purged enclosures are a method of arranging the enclosure in such a way that the possibility of an ambient explosive gas mixture entering is reduced to a low level.
This method of protection can be used in classified Zone 2 locations where an explosive atmosphere is present under abnormal conditions for only a short period of time (typically less than 10 hours per year). The technique can be used to protect equipment that may contain sparks during normal operation or where high temperature components are localised. However, equipment installed inside the enclosure is not capable of changing the internal temperature in the enclosure by more than 10°C.
Case Material and Coating:
316L stainless steel, finish with anti-reflective coating.
Sizes:
Unrestricted. The minimum size will be determined by the power dissipation of the equipment installed inside the enclosure and the ability of the enclosure to support a maximum temperature rise of 10°C.
Configuration:
Specifically designed and built to suit each individual application (request). Tilt table sections, accessibility, windows, control device, internal and external mounting methods can be included to suit both installed equipment and order condition.
Standards:
BS EN 50021: 1999 (EEX nR) Electrical equipment for potentially explosive atmospheres –
Protection type “p”
ATEX Directive 94/9 / EC (ATEX 100A)
Assertion:
The equipment is offered equipped with your devices and which meets the requirements of the above standards and protection methods. The fencing will only have according to certification:
CE 0518 Ех II 3G EEx nR II T6
Temperature: -20 to +40°C
Environmental protection: Minimum IP65
