The Xbeam A EX certified explosion-proof wireless antenna is an ATEX and IECEx approved RF antenna for wireless networking and wireless telemetry systems in hazardous areas. The antenna is optimised for use in steel and concrete environments where multipath propagation and reflection effects are present.
Xbeam A EX is the preferred solution where the access point can be placed in a secure area or in a safe area and where the cable length does not exceed 30 metres. For cable lengths longer than 30 metres or for lossless signal coverage, we recommend our EX-AP-A or the Xpoint access point series.
The antenna must be mounted on the supplied bracket and the bracket must be grounded. The antenna is designed with a connected cable without a lug at its end, which must also be properly protected. The connection must be made in a suitably certified Ex e or Ex d enclosure or in a safe area. In addition, a cable clamp must be installed so that the tightening pull and twisting is not transmitted to the antenna itself.
